Groom rescues wedding guests stuck in heavy snow

An Antigonish County couple had a very white wedding earlier on Saturday when a snowstorm trapped people temporarily at their wedding ceremony.

Jeremy Landry tied the knot with Sarah Isherwood at 2 pm on Saturday and the reception was held at St. Joseph’s Lakeside Community Centre, around fifteen kilometers from Town of Antigonish.

Dinner began at 6 pm and by 9 pm, around sixty centimeters snow had fallen on the street. The idea of having all stay overnight at the centre was thought about, but in the end decided against. Heavy snowfall meant cars parked outside the centre were buried. Landry told that all one could see was just windows and mirrors.

Then Landry went home to get his pickup truck — which has a plow – then he started plowing out his wedding guests. He told that it was snowing really hard. It became beep. He cleared the parking area and after that plowed a part of the highway.
Later neighbors came out from their home and helped with shovel and plow out the wedding guests, but the snow was too much. Finally, Landry spent the whole night driving people to their home in his truck. And finally at 4:30 am, Sunday, he was finally reunited with his newlywed.
Isherwood told that she was really worried about him. She did not really have a phone on her. Therefore, she was not in touch with him, but he knew everyone else was looking out for him.
